Miami Valley Gaming and Racing: Upcoming Events, Restaurants and VLTs

Miami Valley Gaming is the harness racino on State Route 63 in Turtlecreek Township, between Lebanon and Monroe in southwest Ohio. Delaware North and Churchill Downs Inc. own it as an equal joint venture, and it opened in December 2013 to replace the old Lebanon Raceway. The track races in winter and spring, and the floor never closes.

With more than 2,000 video lottery terminals, the operator says it has the most gaming machines in the state. Visitors also find two smoking patios with over 450 games, four places to eat, a combined race and sportsbook, and live bands at the Center Bar on weekends. Live harness racing returns in January 2027.

Upcoming events at Miami Valley Gaming

The racino does not run a concert hall, so upcoming events at Miami Valley Gaming mean promotions, live bands and game-day parties. In October 2026 the main draw is Eye Want a Jeep: every Saturday from October 3 to 24, drawings run from 4 p.m., and one winner at 10 p.m. takes a new Jeep or $25,000 in cash.

Thursday evenings in October carry a $160,000 reel progressive, with five players every half hour spinning for free play or the cash progressive. Most promotions require an MVG Club card, and the official rules sit in the MV Gaming app. The racino reports having paid out more than $1 billion in jackpots since it opened.

Among the regular upcoming events, weekend entertainment happens at the Center Bar, where local and regional bands and DJs play every Friday and Saturday from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. In football season the bars show NFL Sunday Ticket. The 1803 bar, named after the year Ohio became a state, has 24 seats with gaming positions.

The Miami Valley Gaming floor

Miami Valley Gaming offers more than 2,000 video lottery terminals and calls this the largest machine count in Ohio and the wider tri-state area. Two outdoor patios, Lucky Lights and Lucky Lights North, hold over 450 games between them and are where smoking is allowed. Slot magazine readers have voted it best for variety.

There is nothing on the floor besides terminals: no table games, no poker tables and no video poker. New members get $10 in free play when signing up for the MVG Club card, and points can be redeemed for free play or food. Military members and first responders get a dedicated card with 15 percent off food and drink.

Restaurants and bars

Four restaurants sit just off the floor and all take MVG Club points. Cin City Sea and Steak is the fine-dining room, open Thursday to Saturday from 4 p.m. and Sunday from 2 p.m., and it won the 2025 Strictly Slots readers’ choice award for best fine dining. Reservations are recommended, and private dining is available for groups.

Route 63 Comfort Classics serves hearty favorites from 11 a.m., Lucia handles Italian pasta, pizza and sandwiches, and Trifecta Eatery opens at 8 a.m. for coffee, breakfast and paninis before switching to a late-night menu with tacos. Cashless kiosks let card holders order with points and get a text when food is ready.

Live harness racing at Miami Valley

The five-eighths-mile oval was built from scratch by the Coons Brothers and hosted its first meet in February 2014. The track races in winter and spring, Sunday to Thursday, with a 4 p.m. first post and cards of up to fourteen races. The 2026 season opened on January 7, and the next live meet is scheduled for January 2027.

The James K. Hackett Memorial, a series for Ohio-sired three-year-olds that started at the old Lebanon Raceway, ran its 2026 finals on April 23, and the Ohio Sires Stakes opened on May 2 at Miami Valley. Outside the meet, the Race and Sportsbook simulcasts harness and thoroughbred tracks seven days a week.

Sportsbook and wagering

The MVG Race and Sportsbook combines sports betting with the simulcast room. It opens at 11 a.m. on weekdays and 10 a.m. at weekends and is strictly 21 and over, including for horse bets placed there. The sportsbook side, MVG Bet, is operated by GameWise, and sports tickets can only be cashed inside the book during its hours.

For anyone new to the windows, the racino posts a step-by-step betting guide: name the track, the race number, the amount, the bet type and the horse numbers, then collect the ticket. The site’s pari-mutuel betting guide goes deeper into exotic wagers, and the horse racing schedule lists which tracks are running live.

Getting there and where to stay

The address is 6000 State Route 63, Lebanon, Ohio, near Interstate 75 between Dayton and Cincinnati. There is no valet and no wheelchair or scooter rental, so guests bring their own. Trucks and overnight RVs cannot park on the site, and late-night visitors need photo ID at each entry between 10 p.m. and 8 a.m.

Miami Valley Gaming has no hotel of its own. A 2019 expansion plan proposed a 192-room hotel and parking garage, but the racino now points guests to partner hotels nearby: the Drury Inn on Village Drive in Middletown and the Tru by Hilton on Orton Drive in Monroe, which offer special rates for MVG Club members.

History and ownership

Miami Valley Gaming grew out of Lebanon Raceway, a harness track owned by the Nixon and Carlo families. In March 2012 the Churchill Downs and Delaware North venture agreed to buy it for $60 million and move the license to a new $215 million racino, which opened on December 12, 2013. A $5 million patio expansion followed in 2017.

Nearby racinos

Hollywood Gaming at Dayton Raceway is about 30 miles north and races harness horses in the autumn, so the two seasons barely overlap. Belterra Park in Cincinnati runs thoroughbreds in summer, and Scioto Downs in Columbus hosts the 2026 Breeders Crown in late October. See every track on the Ohio racinos page.
