What the site does not collect
You can read every page without signing up, because there are no user accounts. The site sets no analytics cookies and no advertising cookies, and it runs no tracking scripts that build a profile of your visits. The tote board and VLT simulators run entirely in your browser and do not save or send anything.
Your location on the racino map
The racino map has a button that finds the racinos nearest to you. It works only if you press it and then allow location access in your browser. Your position is used inside the page to sort the venues by distance and is never sent to Racinos.us or stored. Declining the browser prompt leaves the rest of the map working.
Map tiles
To draw the map, your browser loads map tiles directly from OpenStreetMap’s tile servers. That request reaches OpenStreetMap with your IP address and the usual browser details, and it is handled under the OpenStreetMap Foundation’s own privacy policy. The map only loads when it scrolls into view, and pages without a map make no such request.
Server logs
Like any website, Racinos.us runs on hosting whose servers keep standard access logs. A log entry records your IP address, the page requested, the time, and the browser and device type your browser reports. These logs are used to keep the site running and secure, to find errors and to block abuse. They are not used to identify you or combined with other data.
Links to other websites
Venue pages link to official venue websites, and the online pages for West Virginia, New Jersey and Michigan link to licensed operators. Once you follow a link, you are on another website with its own cookies and privacy policy. Operator links pass through a redirect so the operator can see the visit came from Racinos.us; the redirect stores nothing about you.
If you write to the site, your message and address are kept only as long as needed to answer and follow up. There is no mailing list, so writing does not sign you up for anything, and your address is never shared for marketing.
Age
The site is written for adults and does not knowingly collect information from anyone under 21.
Your rights
You can ask what personal data the site holds about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted. In practice, the only data that could exist is in server logs or in an email you sent. If you live in California, the California Consumer Privacy Act gives you the right to know what personal information is collected about you, to request its deletion and to opt out of its sale or sharing. Racinos.us does not sell or share personal information, and you will not be treated differently for using any of these rights. Residents of other states with privacy laws, such as Virginia, Colorado or Connecticut, can make the same requests.
Changes
