Remington Park in one evening
A race night at Remington Park can start in the casino, move to dinner in the Silks dining room on the clubhouse level, and finish at the rail for the late races. Live racing begins at 6:30 p.m. on race days, which leaves time for a meal first. Outside the meets, the race schedule shifts to simulcast screens.
The track belongs to the Adventure District, a cluster of attractions where the Oklahoma City Zoo, Science Museum Oklahoma and the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum all sit a short drive from the grandstand. Pairing a daytime museum visit with an evening race card works well, since live racing does not start until after dark in autumn.
The 2026 race schedule
Two meets fill the year. The spring season belongs to American Quarter Horses, Paints and Appaloosas; in 2026 it ran 50 days from March 5 to May 30 and carried 41 stakes. The thoroughbred race schedule began on August 21 and ends on December 19, with live cards Thursday to Saturday and Wednesdays added from October 14.
| Date | Race night | Feature |
|---|---|---|
| September 27, 2026 | Oklahoma Derby Day | Oklahoma Derby (G3), $400,000 |
| October 16, 2026 | Oklahoma Classics Night | Eight races for Oklahoma-breds, about $1.14 million |
| November 21, 2026 | Extreme Holiday Showdown | Special post time |
| December 19, 2026 | Springboard Mile Night | Springboard Mile, $300,000 |
Oklahoma Classics Night is the one to circle for local flavor, because every race on the card is restricted to horses bred in the state. The Springboard Mile on closing night is a two-year-old race that offers Kentucky Derby qualifying points. The wider horse racing schedule lists what else runs in the region through the winter months.
Betting the races at Remington Park
The main dirt track measures one mile, with a seven-furlong turf course inside it, which allows grass racing on the bigger thoroughbred nights. Remington Park opened on September 1, 1988, built by mall developer Edward J. DeBartolo Sr., and it originally used a synthetic Equitrack surface that failed in the Oklahoma summer heat and was replaced.
Simulcast racing from tracks around the country runs every day, so wagering continues long after the live meets end. On October 30 and 31, 2026, the Breeders’ Cup from Keeneland is shown on the screens. New bettors can read the pari-mutuel betting guide first, since every wager here goes into a shared pool rather than against the house.
The casino floor
The Remington Park casino holds 750 electronic gaming machines, the number it has carried since lawmakers raised an earlier cap of 650. Games range from penny denominations to high-limit play, and recent additions include titles built on Monopoly and The Wizard of Oz. The floor never closes, and the Club Remington card earns points and reward dollars for dining.
No table games or sportsbook are listed. Racetrack gaming in Oklahoma is limited to electronic games under the 2004 State-Tribal Gaming Act, so the floor looks different from the tribal resort casinos elsewhere in the state. The video lottery terminal guide covers machine gaming at tracks. Setting a spending limit before sitting down helps keep the evening relaxed.
Restaurants and bars
The Bricktown Brewery sits just off the casino floor and is open to all ages from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily. Its seating faces the track, and the Beer Tap Tables let groups pour their own. Late visitors use the Round the Clock Snack Bar, which serves on the casino floor all day and night.
Silks, on the clubhouse level, is the sit-down choice on race nights. It opens one hour before the first race, offers a salad and appetizer bar plus a family-style menu for six, and looks straight down the stretch. Henry Hudson’s Pub sits on a covered patio beside the track, and Club One boxes add cushioned swivel chairs and table service.
Getting there and where to stay
From downtown, drivers take Interstate 35 north to the Interstate 44 junction; the track address is One Remington Place, in the 73111 ZIP code. Parking is free all year, and valet parking is also free during the racing season. Will Rogers World Airport, on the southwest side of the city, is the closest commercial airport for visitors flying in.
No hotel stands on the property, so the track lists partner hotels with special rates, such as the Holiday Inn Express & Suites on the Northwest Expressway, about six miles away. Visitors driving on to the northeast can continue to Will Rogers Downs near Claremore, the state’s other racino, roughly two hours up the Turner Turnpike, beyond Tulsa.
Ownership and history
Remington Park added its casino in 2005, after Oklahoma voters approved State Question 712 in 2004 and opened racetracks to electronic games. Magna Entertainment sold the track at a 2009 auction, and Global Gaming RP, a company of the Chickasaw Nation, bought it for $89.25 million and took over on January 1, 2010.
The track also hosts the Oklahoma Horse Racing Hall of Fame, started in 2010 to honor horses and people tied to the state.
