Borgata Online at a glance
Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa opened in 2003 on the Atlantic City marina, away from the Boardwalk, and is now an MGM Resorts property. Its online arm went live on November 26, 2013, the day New Jersey’s regulated internet casinos opened, which makes it one of the oldest online casino brands still running in the United States today.
BetMGM LLC operates the sites on behalf of the resort, using the same platform as its own BetMGM brand. The two products share technology, payment rails and the MGM Rewards program, but keep separate lobbies, welcome offers and accounts. The BetMGM Casino review covers the larger sister brand and its three-state footprint.
Where Borgata Online is licensed
New Jersey treats Borgata as a license holder in its own right. The Division of Gaming Enforcement’s list of authorized sites places borgataonline.com, together with the BetMGM casino and poker domains, under Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa. NJBIZ, citing that agency, put the Borgata license’s internet gaming win at $174.2 million for the first quarter of 2026.
The license sits with the resort itself rather than a racetrack, which sets Borgata Online apart from brands hosted by racinos. New Jersey has no racinos, so every brand in the state traces to an Atlantic City casino. The New Jersey online guide maps each brand to its host, and the BetMGM review shows how a sister brand differs.

Geolocation for Borgata Online players
Borgata Online can only take a wager from a device inside New Jersey, so every session starts with a location check. On a computer the browser needs a small geolocation plug-in, and the check works best over Wi-Fi. On phones and tablets, betting runs through the iOS and Android apps, which ask for location permission.
State technical standards set the rhythm. The system must locate the player at login or at the first wager, then re-check during a session, more often within a mile of the state line. A player found outside the state keeps limited account access but cannot bet until a new check passes, and the app shows when the check has failed.
Proxies, fake-location apps, remote-desktop tools, rooted or jailbroken phones are detected and refused. Opening an account, depositing and withdrawing are allowed from anywhere, so a traveller keeps access to the wallet even when betting is blocked. The check protects the license, because wagers from outside New Jersey would break the terms the regulator set.
Games, live tables and poker
The Borgata Casino listing on the App Store, read in October 2026, names more than 450 slots, over 50 jackpot slots and more than 35 Slingo games, plus 14 or more blackjack tables, over 25 roulette games and around ten baccarat games. Live dealer tables run around the clock for roulette, blackjack, craps and baccarat.
Borgata Poker runs on the BetMGM poker network, and the Borgata name also carries live poker series at the Atlantic City property. New Jersey players share tables and tournaments with Michigan players through the network’s multi-state pool, while each account stays tied to its own state. The Michigan online guide covers that market.
Borgata Online review of payments and the app
Deposits can use Visa, Mastercard, Discover or American Express cards, PayPal, Venmo, Apple Pay, the Play+ prepaid card, an eCheck, online banking or PayNearMe cash at retail stores such as 7-Eleven and CVS. Apple Pay works for withdrawals too. New Jersey players can also use the Borgata cage. The welcome offer requires a $10 deposit.
The Borgata Casino app on the App Store showed 4.7 stars from about 53,000 ratings on October 21, 2026, while the Android version on Google Play stood at 4.4 stars from roughly 11,000 reviews. Payouts return to the deposit method where possible, or by paper check, and identity documents may be requested first.
Rewards, promotions and limits
Play on Borgata Online earns Borgata Online Rewards points and MGM Rewards tier credits; points become bonus credit or MGM points for dining and rooms. Recurring promotions include weekly cashback, boosted poker tables and spin leaderboards. The welcome package lets a new player choose a deposit match or bonus spins, with a daily wheel on top; see the offers box.
State rules require operators to offer self-set limits, starting with a deposit cap, and an account suspension option. A limit set before the first deposit is easy to keep. New Jersey also keeps a statewide self-exclusion list. For the racing side, New Jersey has no racino, because the state keeps casinos and racetracks apart.
How Borgata Online fits the New Jersey market
New Jersey has more than twenty online casino brands, each tied to an Atlantic City license, and Borgata’s license carries several of them. The New Jersey online guide lists the hosts and brands, along with the state’s racetrack betting options at Monmouth Park and the Meadowlands, which run outside the casino system.
