From PointsBet to Fanatics Casino
Fanatics built its betting business by buying rather than starting from nothing. In 2023 it agreed to acquire the US operations of PointsBet, the Australian bookmaker, and took over state licenses one by one until the deal closed in April 2024 at roughly $225 million. In West Virginia, customer accounts, balances and responsible-gambling settings moved across automatically.
The casino itself began as a small pilot. When the sportsbook went live in West Virginia in November 2023, the company placed a casino tab inside the app with slots, roulette and a new Fanatics Blackjack game. The product then grew state by state, and on May 2, 2025, it moved into a standalone app in all three markets.
Fanatics Casino licenses and the racino link
| State | Host license | Regulator | Casino live since |
|---|---|---|---|
| West Virginia | West Virginia Lottery license (acquired with PointsBet) | West Virginia Lottery | November 2023 |
| Michigan | Lac Vieux Desert Band of Lake Superior Chippewa Indians | Gaming Control Board | 2024 |
| New Jersey | Bally’s Atlantic City | Division of Gaming Enforcement | May 8, 2024 |
West Virginia is licensed by the West Virginia Lottery, and Fanatics reached the state through its purchase of PointsBet’s business there. The casino went live in November 2023 as a tab inside the sportsbook app. Every online casino license in the state traces to a land casino, most of them a racino, as the West Virginia online guide explains.
The licenses behind the three states carry different regulators and different rules. Each state keeps its own offer terms, self-exclusion list and helpline, and an account opened in one state cannot play in another. The New Jersey and Michigan guides explain how each of those markets works and who regulates it.
New Jersey shows the brand’s other track link. The casino uses the internet gaming license of Bally’s Atlantic City, while the Fanatics sportsbook runs under the sports wagering license of the Meadowlands Racetrack in East Rutherford. In Michigan the partner is the Lac Vieux Desert Band, which owns a resort casino in Watersmeet in the Upper Peninsula.
What the Fanatics Casino lobby offers
The Fanatics Casino lobby mixes slots, blackjack, roulette, poker, baccarat and video poker with titles made by Fanatics Game Studios, which began with Fanatics Blackjack in 2023. Outside suppliers named at the standalone launch include Light & Wonder, IGT PlayDigital, Evolution, White Hat Studios and Wazdan, with Play’n GO added later across all three states.
Live dealer tables cover blackjack, roulette and baccarat with professional dealers in real time. Slots named in the app listing include Triple Cash Eruption and 7s Fire Blitz Triple Fire, and a FanCash Jackpots section sits beside the regular jackpots. Each state’s regulator approves titles separately, so a new release can reach one state weeks before another.
The sign up bonus and FanCash rewards
The Fanatics Casino sign up bonus is a choice of two. The default works as day-one cover: losses on eligible games in the first 24 hours return as casino credit up to $1,000, expiring seven days after issue. The alternative swaps that for 1,000 Bonus Spins on one slot, 100 a day for 10 days, no promo code needed.
FanCash is the reward currency of the Fanatics group. Casino wagers earn it on every spin, hand or roll, win or lose, with slots earning more than tables. Players can spend FanCash on jerseys, hats and other merchandise on Fanatics.com. A daily Spin to Win in the app can add bonus spins, FanCash or merchandise prizes.
Fanatics Casino review of the app and payments
On October 21, 2026, the standalone app listed 4.8 stars from about 36,000 App Store ratings, and the iPhone download is about 655 MB. The combined sportsbook and casino app remains available as well, and the app listing describes support as staffed around the clock. Location services must stay switched on throughout every session of play.
Deposits, according to the terms read for this review, can use any method the platform accepts, such as banks, cards and electronic payment processors. Withdrawals are generally processed within 24 hours but can take up to five working days, with delays possible outside business hours, and the Transaction History in the account lists past deposits and withdrawals.
Limits, exclusion and help
The settings menu offers self-set limits, starting with a deposit cap, plus account suspension and self-exclusion. A deposit limit set at sign-up is the simplest way to keep play within a budget. Each state also keeps its own exclusion list covering every licensed operator, and 1-800-GAMBLER answers around the clock.
