What FanDuel Racing is, and what it is not
FanDuel Racing the betting service is an advance-deposit wagering account: the player funds it first, then bets races at tracks across North America and abroad. The standalone app reached the App Store in January 2020. FanDuel later added a racing tab to its Sportsbook app, so in many states the same bets can be placed without a second download.
FanDuel Racing is also a cable channel. It began in 1983 as the Meadows Racing Network, sending races from The Meadows near Pittsburgh to Pennsylvania cable systems, became HRTV and then TVG2, and took the FanDuel name in September 2022. The channel and the app share branding and talent, but the betting account works without any cable subscription.
Where the FanDuel Racing app takes bets
FanDuel’s help page, checked for this review in October 2026, lists West Virginia for both the standalone app and the Sportsbook racing tab. The state hosts racinos at Charles Town and Mountaineer, so a player can bet the home track and a national card from the same balance, with the West Virginia terms line shown beside the button.
New Jersey is the exception. FanDuel sends its residents to 4NJBets, because the state runs a closed account wagering system, as the New Jersey online guide explains. Michigan is a separate case: the regulator ordered every ADW to stop taking residents on January 1, 2025, and for Michigan this site lists TwinSpires. This review covers FanDuel Racing in West Virginia.
From the phone to the pari-mutuel pool
A FanDuel Racing bet is not a fixed-odds wager against FanDuel. The stake is commingled with the host track’s pool, the takeout is removed, and the remainder is shared among winning tickets, so the payout matches what a bettor at the window receives. The pari-mutuel betting guide walks through takeout, breakage and why late odds move.
The bet menu follows the host track, from win, place and show to exactas, trifectas and the multi-race wagers each track cards. FanDuel’s horse racing pages pitch the product at newcomers as much as regulars, with tutorials, free race predictions and expert statistics placed beside the race cards, and the same menus appear in the Sportsbook racing tab.
Live video and handicapping help
Account holders can stream races from more than 300 tracks without charge, and FanDuel Racing’s site promises live FanDuel TV coverage, picks and previews from the channel’s analysts and racing news for the biggest days, from the Kentucky Derby to the Breeders’ Cup. Serious handicappers often pair that with past performances bought separately.
Bettors who build their day around a calendar can match the app’s track list against the horse racing schedule on this site, which lists when each racino runs live. Simulcast cards from the big circuits fill the gaps between live meets, and the Triple Crown and Breeders’ Cup cards appear in the app like any other track.
Money in, money out, and the age rule
Because FanDuel runs one wallet across Sportsbook, Racing and Casino, deposits made anywhere in the group fund racing bets, and winnings from any product can go back into play or out to the bank. Methods follow the main FanDuel account: debit cards, PayPal, Venmo, Apple Pay, online banking and more, each shown in the cashier.
Withdrawals follow FanDuel’s general timetable: a review of up to 24 hours, then debit card, PayPal, Venmo and Apple Pay payouts within 24 hours and online banking up to five business days. FanDuel’s help centre sets 21 as the minimum age for FanDuel Racing, stricter than West Virginia law, which allows pari-mutuel betting at 18.
Promotions in this FanDuel Racing review
New customers who have never placed a wager anywhere at FanDuel receive racing site credit after a first real-money bet of $10 or more, valid for seven days. Regular promotions are race-based: FanDuel publishes money-back specials that refund a losing win bet on a featured Race of the Day or on selected days, paid as racing bonus credit.
Bettors comparing promotions and loyalty terms across racing apps can read the review of TwinSpires, the Churchill Downs racing app, or the independent racing apps on the online overview. Each of them pays from the same pari-mutuel pools, so the differences come down to bonuses, rebates, streaming and which states accept the account.
The app ratings and the FanDuel TV wind-down
The standalone app held 4.8 stars from 17,611 ratings on the App Store when checked on October 21, 2026, as a download of about 97 MB for iOS 17 or later. FanDuel’s limits cover deposits, wagers and time; raising a limit waits up to 30 days, timeouts run from 3 to 365 days, and self-exclusion applies across every FanDuel product.
In March 2026 Flutter told employees that FanDuel TV, the former TVG channel, would end in-studio production in December 2026 and stop televising races by the end of 2027. The company said its wagering platforms continue, and trade press in 2026 still described FanDuel’s racing business as the second-largest ADW in the United States.
