4NJBets Review: The TVG App for Horse Racing Bettors in New Jersey

4NJBets is the online horse racing account that New Jersey residents used for more than a decade, when it was the only legal option in the state. It runs on the TVG platform, which belongs to FanDuel Group, and it kept operating when a new managing vendor took over the state's account wagering system on July 1, 2026.

The product is close to TVG's national app: the same track menu, live video, picks from TVG's analysts and a handicapping store, packaged for one state. Accounts are open only to state residents, and wagers go into the regular pari-mutuel pools. This page covers who runs it, what it offers and what is changing.

Who operates 4NJBets in 2026

Typing 4njbets.com now lands on a page hosted at 4njbets.us.betfair.com, an address that dates from the period when Betfair owned TVG. The operator behind it is TVG, trading as ODS Technologies, L.P., the seller named on the App Store listing and part of FanDuel Group, which in turn belongs to Flutter Entertainment.

The site footer confirms the ownership. It carries a TVG support email, a mailing address in Hillsboro, Oregon, links to the FanDuel Support Center and FanDuel TV, and the National Problem Gambling Helpline. The New Jersey Racing Commission still lists 4njbets.com as the official site for the state’s account wagering, under a partnership of the NJSEA and PennWood Racing.

How New Jersey’s closed system shaped the 4NJBets review

New Jersey never opened its doors to every national app. Account wagering ran as a single state system, with TVG’s 4NJBets as the only online racing account residents could open. A Racing Commission agenda from 2015 refers to an Account Wagering Management Agreement dated October 1, 2012, and to TVG requests concerning how 4NJBets handled refunds.

That changed in two steps. In July 2024 Darby Development, the operator of Monmouth Park, chose a new managing vendor for the account wagering system, subject to approval by the New Jersey Racing Commission. On July 1, 2026 that vendor’s platform went live, and 4NJBets continued without a break as one of the approved sites.

For residents, the practical effect is a choice that did not exist before 2026. 4NJBets, the managing vendor’s own platform and the fixed-odds MonmouthBets operate inside the system, and any further platform needs approval from the managing vendor, Darby Development and the Racing Commission. The New Jersey guide explains why the state’s tracks never added slot machines.

The 4NJBets app on iPhone and Android

The iPhone app has been in the App Store since May 2014 and calls itself the first legal horse racing betting app for New Jersey. In October 2026 it held a 4.8 average from about 8,950 ratings, with version 4.4.14 released on October 15. An Android build is offered too, and the website gives the same account on a desktop.

Inside the app, players get race alerts for the big days, a bet slip for straight and exotic wagers, live video, replays and past performances. The look follows the TVG app sold in other states, because the code is shared. Accounts are limited to New Jersey residents, as the Racing Commission’s account wagering rules require.

Tracks, TVG video and handicapping data

The listing names more than 150 tracks, among them Monmouth Park, Saratoga, Belmont Park, Keeneland, Del Mar, Santa Anita and Gulfstream Park, with live streaming promised for all of them. That menu is narrower than the 300-track counts quoted by some national rivals, though it covers the cards most New Jersey players bet on a normal afternoon.

Handicapping comes in two layers. A store sells past performances from Daily Racing Form, Equibase and TrackMaster, while a free section offers past performances for selected races. TVG’s on-air analysts publish picks, a Racing 101 area covers bet types, and a results page lists payouts for every race carried, with replays one tap away.

What the FanDuel TV wind-down means for 4NJBets

FanDuel told staff on March 27, 2026 that FanDuel TV would be wound down over roughly 20 months. Studio programming is due to end in December 2026, while live racing from partner tracks stays on air for longer. The company said the change would not affect its horse race wagering operations in the United States.

For 4NJBets players, the visible change is mostly on screen. The free HD feed of the FanDuel TV networks and the analysts’ studio segments will thin out, while track video, which comes from the hosts themselves, stays tied to the platform’s content agreements. The FanDuel Racing review follows the same question for players in other states.

Betting New Jersey tracks from home

Two tracks race in the state. Monmouth Park in Oceanport runs thoroughbreds from early May to Labor Day, with the Grade 1 Haskell Invitational in late July, and the Meadowlands races harness for much of the year. After 2026 the Hambletonian moves for three years to Harrah’s Hoosier Park, an Indiana racino.

Those tracks sit next to big neighbours. Parx, just across the Delaware River near Philadelphia, races thoroughbreds beside a casino floor, a model New Jersey never adopted after voters rejected casinos outside Atlantic City in 2016. The horse racing schedule shows which tracks with gaming floors race live in a given week.

Age, eligibility and the 4NJBets pools

The Racing Commission sets the account wagering age at 18 for New Jersey residents, while the app listing asks for 21. Each bet joins the host track’s pari-mutuel pool, pays at the official price and returns part of the takeout to the track. Setting a monthly budget before the first deposit keeps the hobby affordable.

Frequently asked questions

Who runs 4NJBets today?

TVG does, through ODS Technologies, L.P., the company named as seller on the app and part of FanDuel Group. The website address now forwards to a page on a betfair.com subdomain, a leftover from the years when Betfair owned TVG, while the footer lists a TVG support email and a mailing address in Hillsboro, Oregon.

Is 4NJBets still available after the 2026 vendor change?

Yes. When a new managing vendor took over New Jersey's online and mobile account wagering system on July 1, 2026, the announcement stated that 4NJBets would continue as an online and mobile wagering site without disruption of service. For residents, that left two pari-mutuel accounts to choose from where there had been one.

Is 4NJBets the same as TVG?

It runs on the same technology and carries the same kind of content, including live video, TVG analysts' picks and the handicapping store, but it is a separate account. A TVG account opened in another state cannot be used here, and TVG's national app does not list New Jersey among its states, which is why the separate brand exists.

How old do you have to be for 4NJBets?

The New Jersey Racing Commission sets the floor for account wagering at 18 and requires state residency. The app's App Store listing asks for players who are at least 21 and either US citizens or resident aliens, so in practice the stricter rule applies when an account is opened through the app.

Does the 4NJBets app stream races?

Yes. The listing promises live streaming for all of the more than 150 tracks it carries, along with free HD streams of the FanDuel TV networks and free replays. FanDuel announced in March 2026 that the channel's studio shows will end in December 2026, while live race coverage from its partner tracks continues for now.

Can you bet Monmouth Park on 4NJBets?

Yes. Monmouth Park is on the track list, and its thoroughbred season runs from early May to Labor Day, with the Haskell Invitational in late July. The Meadowlands races harness for much of the year and adds autumn thoroughbred dates. Freehold Raceway, once the third track on the state's account wagering page, closed in December 2024.

What handicapping data does 4NJBets offer?

The site's store sells past performances from Daily Racing Form, Equibase and TrackMaster, and a free past performances section covers selected races. TVG's analysts publish picks for major cards, replays of resulted races sit in a separate tab, and a Racing 101 section explains bet types and the basics of reading a program.

Where can 4NJBets players get help with gambling problems?

The site's footer lists the National Problem Gambling Helpline at 1-800-MY-RESET under its Always Wager Responsibly banner. New Jersey's own line, 1-800-GAMBLER, is free, confidential and staffed around the clock for players and their families. Questions about an account or a dispute can go to the New Jersey Racing Commission on 609-292-0613.
