Who runs DraftKings Casino, and in which states
DraftKings Inc. is headquartered in Boston and runs daily fantasy sports, a sportsbook and the online casino from one account, and its founders Jason Robins, Matt Kalish and Paul Liberman launched the company in 2012. The DraftKings Casino brand is live in West Virginia, New Jersey and Michigan, and players must be 21 and physically inside one of them.
Each state requires an online brand to sit under a land-based license holder, so DraftKings has a different legal host at every border. The online casino overview explains that model in general. For this brand, the host is a racetrack casino in two states, an Atlantic City hotel in one and a tribal nation in the other.
License holders: the racinos behind the brand
West Virginia’s license is the racino link. The Lottery Commission lists DraftKings under the casino license of Hollywood Casino at Charles Town, and the brand launched there in July 2020 as the state’s first online casino. The Charles Town page covers the track, its racing calendar and the gaming floor that holds the license.
In West Virginia the arrangement mirrors it. DraftKings states that it operates under the license of Hollywood Casino at Charles Town Races, the thoroughbred track in Jefferson County. The West Virginia Lottery cleared it in July 2020, which made it the first online casino in the state, a sequence the West Virginia online guide covers in full.
New Jersey and Michigan have no racino link. The Division of Gaming Enforcement lists casino.draftkings.com under Resorts Casino Hotel in Atlantic City, and the Michigan Gaming Control Board lists it under the Bay Mills Indian Community. The New Jersey and Michigan pages explain why those two states pair brands with hotels and tribes instead.
The welcome offer covered in this review
New DraftKings players pick one of two offers after a $5 qualifying wager: Flex Spins delivered in daily batches, or a lossback that returns net losses from a set period as Crown Cash. Both arrive as site credit with playthrough rules. The offers box on this page carries the current figures and the terms line for each state.
Two details trip up new accounts. Flex Spins are locked to the game chosen that day and expire 24 hours after the choice, so unused spins do not roll over. And the qualifying wager has to land on an eligible game, which rules out craps and Electric Poker in every state where the offer runs.
Games, exclusives and DraftKings Jackpots
Slots make up most of the lobby, next to blackjack, roulette and video poker, and DraftKings adds titles of its own. In August 2026 Games Global gave it exclusive United States rights to the CASHINGO slot franchise, a bingo-style mechanic that started with Links of Ra CASHINGO in 2025 and now spans several releases.
DraftKings Jackpots is the company’s own progressive network. Its jackpot page names a $22,407,248 win on Huff N’ Even More Puff by a Michigan player in November 2025 as the largest at DraftKings, and lists recent seven-figure hits in West Virginia and New Jersey. The odds on any spin stay long, and most players never land one.
Live dealer tables
The live lobby mixes shared tables, which several operators use at once, with DraftKings tables reserved for its own players and streamed from what the company calls the only fully dedicated 24-hour live dealer studio in New Jersey. Games include blackjack, baccarat, roulette, Three Card Poker, Ultimate Texas Hold’em and Dream Catcher, with limits from $0.10 to $500.
Deposits, withdrawals and identity checks
DraftKings’ help centre lists Visa, Mastercard, Discover and American Express debit cards, Apple Pay, PayPal, Venmo and wire transfers, which need at least $100, for deposits. Every method has to be in the account holder’s own name, and business accounts are refused. Cash at the casino cage and online banking also appear among the withdrawal options.
The withdrawal clock starts when the second confirmation email arrives. From then, cash at the cage takes about an hour, debit cards up to 24 hours, Apple Pay about a day, online banking up to two business days, and PayPal, Venmo and wire up to two days. Checks of $100 or less can take fourteen business days.
The DraftKings Casino app and website
The standalone DraftKings Casino app showed 4.7 stars from 111,946 ratings on the App Store and 4.6 from 42,322 on Google Play when this page was checked on October 21, 2026. A combined sportsbook and casino app holds both products. Desktop play runs in a browser, and every session first needs a geolocation check inside an approved state.
The help centre at support.draftkings.com covers deposits, withdrawals, verification and bonus terms, with separate pages for United States accounts. Its withdrawal article explains the two-email system, and its limits pages show the waiting periods before a raised limit takes effect. Those articles are the quickest reference for routine account questions before contacting an agent.
DraftKings Rewards and where the points go
Dynasty Rewards is now called DraftKings Rewards, with Crown Cash as the currency. Tier Credits still decide the level, up to the invitation-only Onyx tier, and Golden Nugget play counts too, as its own review explains. A status match page on the casino site describes how an existing tier can carry over.
Penn National and Charles Town run their own loyalty card through their owner, and DraftKings Rewards is a separate program with separate points. Visitors who play on the floor at either track and on the app collect in two places. The tracks themselves are described in the guide to what a racino is, which covers how the licenses are structured.
Limits, cool-off and self-exclusion
Players can cap deposits by the day, week or month; once set, a limit cannot be loosened until its waiting period runs out. A cool-off gives a short break, and self-exclusion runs from one year up to lifetime, depending on the state. Setting a limit before the first deposit keeps spending inside a budget chosen in advance.
How DraftKings reached the three states
New Jersey came first, in 2018. West Virginia followed in July 2020, when DraftKings went live under the Charles Town license as the state’s first online casino, and Michigan’s market opened on January 22, 2021 with DraftKings among the first brands live. Each state’s regulator approved the brand before it took a wager.
