From Atlantic City pioneer to DraftKings brand
The Golden Nugget name goes back to a Las Vegas casino of 1946, and the online casino grew out of its Atlantic City sister property when New Jersey opened regulated play in 2013. Golden Nugget Online Gaming later became a separate company, and DraftKings agreed to buy it in August 2021, closing the deal on May 5, 2022.
The purchase covered the online business only. The Golden Nugget hotels kept their existing owner, so the brand on the app and the resort brand on the Boardwalk now belong to different companies. Since the sale, Golden Nugget Online Casino has moved onto DraftKings’ platform, which explains why its lobby and offers resemble the DraftKings Casino review closely.

None of the three hosts is a racetrack. In New Jersey the Division of Gaming Enforcement lists the site under Golden Nugget in Atlantic City, in Michigan it runs through a tribal casino, and in West Virginia access came through a resort. That differs from the racino pairings at Charles Town, where a brand borrows a racetrack casino’s license.
West Virginia access came through The Greenbrier, the state’s only casino license away from a track, under an agreement announced in November 2020. In Michigan, Golden Nugget Online Casino runs through the Keweenaw Bay Indian Community and went live on launch day, January 22, 2021. The West Virginia and Michigan pages list the other pairings.
The welcome offer in this review
Golden Nugget uses a pick-one structure tied to a $5 qualifying wager. One choice pays Crown Cash with a 1x playthrough; the other releases Flex Spins in batches of 50 a day over ten days. Beyond the welcome deal, much of the ongoing value sits in the shared rewards program rather than in a busy promotions calendar. Withdrawals normally go back to a method used for depositing, PayPal withdrawals are capped at $60,000 and Venmo withdrawals at $20,000 per request.
Times run in business days from the email confirming the withdrawal is complete. The Golden Nugget app on iPhone and Android
The current iPhone app, published under the DraftKings developer account in August 2023, held 4.7 stars from 52,274 ratings on October 21, 2026. It is a download of about 192 MB and needs iOS 17 or later. Both the app and the desktop lobby run a geolocation check before any real-money game opens.
Account questions go through the Golden Nugget service portal, which carries separate articles for deposits, withdrawals by method, limits and verification.
